Steve Burt passed away on December 23, 2011. His funeral will be on Saturday, January 14 at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont 12 noon.

Steve had several problems. Aside from the fact that he was very overweight he was also a diabetic. In December his son noticed he was blue about his chest and arms. They took him to emergency - a collapsed lung. Every time they did something medically positive for him something else would go wrong and by December 23 his body gave up. Very sad and he'll be missed.

Steve, Don Clement and I were such good friends in high school, that we swore, when we were 50, we would meet at the high school to see what we've done with our lives. OF COURSE HIGH SCHOOL PROMISES FADE AWAY, AND EACH OF US WERE BUSY WITH OUR OWN LIVES, BUT MEMORY IS STRONG, AND WHEN I TURNED 50, I THOUGHT ABOUT STEVE, AND HOPED HE THOUGHT ABOUT ME.

I was only at CHS for a couple of months in 10th grade and through 11th but continued seeing friends there during senior year. Steve stands out in my memory as one of the really nice guys, fun to hang out with and a good friend. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing and my heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and friends.
